Friends of Churchill Seniors Centre
About Us
During the autumn of 2009, the users of the
Churchill Seniors Centre banded together to support retaining
the Centre as a city run recreation facility for seniors in the
face of a possible takeover by another organization.
Once the takeover was averted, the users of the Churchill Centre
decided to formalize their organization to represent the ongoing
interests of the users of the facility. A steering
committee drafted a constitution and by-laws which the members
approved on Feb. 11, 2010 following which a Board of Directors
was elected. On May 27, 2010 the Board approved a Mission
Statement
which outlines the objectives of the Friends.
